Do you want to take the first steps into getting a greener, healthier lawn? This is the perfect place to start!
So, maybe you have just moved house and the lawn at your new place needs some TLC or maybe you have just been super busy and neglecting your lawn this spring. It happens, don’t stress! But in just a few simple steps, you can get your dry, patchy lawn looking heaps better.
The first step is to make sure you have a working irrigation system. This doesn’t have to be fancy, and it can be tailored to suit your individual requirements. But make sure that your lawn is getting the water that it needs. If you need help with anything irrigation, we share a warehouse in Dry Creek, South Australia with Waterpro who design and supply irrigation systems for residential and commercial customers all over the country. The team at Waterpro have put together a DIY Above Group Sprinkler Kit which is the perfect starting point for anyone new to lawn care. Head over to their website for more details (www.waterpro.com.au/diy-above-ground-sprinkler-kit) They can also help you out with the design and supply of a fully automated in ground irrigation system. Contact the team at sales@waterpro.com.au for more details.
Once you have your irrigation system up and running, it’s time to fertilise your lawn and apply a wetting agent. We recommend looking at The Glory, Whole Pack which includes a 5kg TROJAN Fertilser and 3kg BBW Granular Wetting Agent. TROJAN is a custom blended, professional quality, slow-release lawn fertiliser which will get your lawn actively growing. BBW is a professional quality granular wetting agent which helps improve moisture retention and distribution in the soil.
Apply TROJAN at a rate of 2.5kg per 100m2 and BBW at a rate of 1.5kg per 100m2 and water them in with at least 10mm. Avoid mowing for at least 24 hours after application and then watch as your lawn starts looking better by the day! You can re-apply TROJAN and BBW every 3 months as part of your annual lawn care program.
Make sure that you stay on top of your watering schedule, especially in the warmer periods and make sure that you are regularly mowing your lawn. We recommend mowing at least once a week, but if you can another one in then you won’t regret it!
